S6 The Will Of Man and His Power To Choose

If God knew what was going to happen, why didn’t He simply control events so he could continue making His plan perfect?

If the Lord knew Man was weak, why did he put Adam and Eve in the garden, showed them the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, and then commanded them not to eat of it?  Everyone knows about Negative Psychology: Tell someone not to do something and that is what they will do. And then – another question that gets asked again and again:  Why did God not do anything to stop Eve from eating the fruit?

And then to go back to the problem that started it all: If He is God, why couldn’t He have stopped his beloved and beautiful Lucifer, from committing mutiny resulting in him and a third of the angels being thrown out of heaven into earth?

They are all good questions, but it is tantamount to asking “Why didn’t God simply make us all into automated robots who nod their heads and say Amen?”

2 Corinthians 6:18  “And I will be a Father to you, and you will be sons and daughters to Me, says the Lord Almighty.”

God could have made us to exist like pre-programmed creatures who would not turn against Him. He could have given us no choices, no character, no personality. But He created us to be His beloved family. He created us with a great capacity to think for ourselves, to love whom we choose and to choose whom to love.

What God who is filled with Love, wish to be loved by mindless idiots? He wanted to be loved genuinely, to be worshipped in spirit and in truth. And that required Him giving his angels and Man a will, and the power to CHOOSE  to love and worship Him. OR NOT.

So Friend, what will you choose to love today?
